There are many many great restaurants in Saint John. Here is a selection of our favourites.

Suwanna - 325 Lancaster Avenue - 637 9015

When you need to make a reservation for a restaurant it's usually a good sign, and Suwanna is one such restaurant. Arguably the best restaurant in town in our opinion. Serving Thai food in a converted house makes this an unusual but interesting venue but we have always enjoyed good food and service here, but remember to avoid disappointment, make that reservation.

Thandi - 33 Canterbury - 648 377

Generous portions, attentive service and a great atmosphere are our memories from our experiences at Thandi, located right in Uptown Saint John. The food was delicious washed down by a Flight of Wine.

Saint John Ale House - Market Square - 657 2337

Try the house special, Kettle Chips and you will be addicted. The Ale House is in a great location overlooking Market Slip and in the summer a superb location to sit outside with a beer and your food and watch the world go by. In the summer you can watch the Volleyball or the numerous concerts on Market Slip.

Mexicali Rosa's - 88 Prince William Street - 652 5252

Great Mexican restaurant in Uptown Saint John. This is a great place to go with a group of friends for a fun night out. The food is great with good service.

Vito's - Union Street - 634 3900

We love Vito's for a Pizza or Salad or Pasta just before a show at Harbour Station. With an extensive menu Vitos is a busy family restaurant with good food. Can get very busy at weekends or when shows are on in town. They also do a great Pizza take-out.

Holly's - Hampton - 832 5520

This was a very pleasant suprise. Hampton is roughly 15 miles outside Saint John but this home-cooking style restaurant is worth a visit. I remember having a generous portion of Potato Skins with Bacon and cheese and a delicious desert.

Opera Bistro - 60 Prince William Street - 642 2822

I enjoyed a great lunch at Opera Bistro, a delicious salad and soup. Top quality food and good service. We also had the pleasure to attand a travel function in the restaurant and the food served was wonderful.

House of Chan - Level 1 Brunswick Square - 642 5880

What list of restaurants is complete without a Chinese. We suggest House of Chan as a take-out option as eating in the food court of Brusnwick Square is not too glamourous. Anyway the food is great and you can't beat a good Chinese take-out.
